Clothes
make the (wo)man.
I love clothes and putting
together outfits. You are a blank canvas with endless possibilities.
Sometimes you don’t know how things will look until you try them on… and add a
belt? Sure! Vest? Whoa! It’s all experimentation and there’s no need to look
like everyone else in town. Unless you like their look, then try it!
I spent my childhood in my
brother’s hand-me-downs. I spent my teens in thrift store garb and hand-made creations. I drooled over
other people’s outfits in Paris as a college student. I made fun of the fashionistas
at my liberal arts college, girls who had tons of money to spend on clothes. But when
I realized that I could have style too, I fully embraced it. It’s not just for
some people! It’s for all people! I don’t think I’m what’s her name from Gossip
Girl (yeah, I know her name) or Lady Gaga or anything. I just love “fashion”.
Obviously
I have my shlubb days where I leave the house regretting my entire appearance…
just wishing I could go home and change my outfit. I have my “lazy days” where
I JUST DON’T CARE. But when I look good, I feel good. It’s that simple.
